MotoGP in Turkey: Is There a Race, and What Happened at Istanbul Park

MotoGP has no race in Turkey at present: the 2026 calendar has 22 Grands Prix, and none of them is at Istanbul Park. The circuit did host MotoGP from 2005 to 2007. This page explains what happened then, where things stand now and how to see top-level racing in Turkey instead. If a Turkish round returns, we arrange your tickets and plan the trip.

Is There a MotoGP Race in Turkey?

No. The 2026 MotoGP calendar runs from Thailand in late February to Valencia in late November, with no Turkish round. The 2027 calendar is not published yet. Ask us, and we tell you as soon as a date in Turkey is confirmed.

MotoGP at Istanbul Park, 2005 to 2007

The Turkish motorcycle Grand Prix ran for three seasons at Istanbul Park, east of the city. Marco Melandri won the premier class in 2005, his first MotoGP victory, and won again in 2006. In 2007, Casey Stoner took the race. After that season, the round left the calendar.

Racing at Istanbul Park Now

Formula 1 is coming back to the same circuit. The Turkish Grand Prix runs from 1 to 3 October 2027, under a deal through 2031.
