The essence
A henna night in Istanbul gives a bride and her friends a Turkish wedding custom of their own. On the night, the bride wears a red veil, friends sing the old songs, and henna goes into her palm with a gold coin. We arrange the evening around your group and confirm the place with you, whether your wedding is in Turkey or back home.

In depth
The lights go low, the friends start to sing, and the bride holds out her palm under a red veil. A coin goes in, then the henna, and her hand closes over both. Our henna night in Istanbul gives a bride and her friends this evening, with the songs explained and the details taken care of.
What Happens on the Night
The kına gecesi is the night before a Turkish wedding, when the women gather around the bride. She wears a red dress and a red veil, and her friends sing old, often sad songs about leaving her mother’s home. Then an elder places henna in her palm, traditionally only after a gold coin goes into her hand. In many places, the guests also take a little henna on their fingers, for luck.
Your Henna Night in Istanbul
You do not need a Turkish groom or a wedding in Turkey. Bride-to-be groups and friends on a trip can have the evening too. Your own guide explains each step and each song, so nobody is left guessing. We arrange the evening around your group, then confirm the place, the hours and the music with you before your date.
Around the Wedding
A henna night can sit inside a bigger plan. For the whole day itself, see our weddings page, and for the group’s other nights out, our bachelor and bachelorette trips. Has the question not been asked yet? Our marriage proposals service starts earlier in the story.
So who holds out her palm, and how many friends sing along? Tell us, with your dates, and we start with the red veil.
