Istanbul Basketball Derbies: Fenerbahçe, Anadolu Efes, Beşiktaş and Galatasaray

Istanbul basketball derbies are the games between the city’s own clubs. Three Istanbul clubs play in the 2026–27 EuroLeague: Fenerbahçe, Anadolu Efes and Beşiktaş. Galatasaray plays in the Turkish league. So the city has derbies in two competitions, and some pairs meet three times in one season. Beşiktaş is also where Alperen Şengün won the Turkish league MVP award before his move to the NBA.

Fenerbahçe vs Anadolu Efes

This is the derby of two EuroLeague champions. Fenerbahçe won the title in 2017 and 2025, while Anadolu Efes won it in 2021 and 2022. In 2026–27, they meet three times in Istanbul:

• November 15, 2026: Turkish league, at the Ülker Sports Arena; see Fenerbahçe vs Anadolu Efes in November.
• December 10, 2026: EuroLeague, at the Ülker Sports Arena; see Fenerbahçe vs Anadolu Efes in December.
• January 7, 2027: EuroLeague, at the Basketball Development Center; see Anadolu Efes vs Fenerbahçe.

Beşiktaş vs Fenerbahçe

Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe also meet three times in the city in 2026–27. First comes the Turkish league game on November 22, 2026, at the Basketball Development Center. Then the EuroLeague brings them together there on December 22, 2026, and at the Ülker Sports Arena on January 21, 2027. For each night, see the November game, the December game and the January game.

Anadolu Efes vs Beşiktaş

This derby is unusual, because both clubs have played their EuroLeague home games at the same arena in the 2026–27 season, the Basketball Development Center. The first EuroLeague meeting was on October 22, 2026. The return game, with Beşiktaş at home, falls on March 19, 2027. In the Turkish league, the federation has not yet set the date of their meeting.

Galatasaray vs Fenerbahçe

Galatasaray plays its home games in the Turkish league at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Ataköy. In 2026–27, the federation has not yet set the date of the Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe game. Galatasaray also hosts Anadolu Efes there on December 12, 2026; see Galatasaray vs Anadolu Efes.
