Revithia

Overview

Revithia is the restaurant of Kayakapı Premium Caves, in the restored Kayakapı quarter on the hill above Ürgüp. It serves a tasting menu built on the old recipes of Cappadocia, and it holds one MICHELIN Star, the only star in the current guide for Nevşehir. Its name means "chickpea".

Old recipes, new techniques

First, the chefs work mainly from Turkish, Greek and Armenian recipes handed down in the region, and they bring back dishes that were close to forgotten. Then they cook them with modern techniques. The tasting menu changes three or four times a year, so it follows what the season brings to the valleys.

Cappadocian wine at Revithia

A Cave Room and a Terrace

Inside, the dining room sits in a historic cave and seats only 25 guests, so book ahead. In the warmer months, dinner moves to an open terrace for up to 40 guests, with Ürgüp and the old houses of Kayakapı spread out below.

We suggest it for the big dinner of a Cappadocia trip, an anniversary or a celebration. It also suits wine lovers who want to taste the region's grapes with food made for them.
