It stands back from the main road in a protected landscape of pine forest, above bays where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean. The resort holds one MICHELIN Key. It opened under the name D-Hotel Maris and belongs to the Doğuş Hospitality & Retail group.

Five beaches of white sand line the resort's shore. One of them has a beach club, while snorkelers head for another. The Site and Its Story
Pine forest, protected land and Kastabos
The resort sits in a protected nature reserve, framed by volcanic hills and pine forest. In the wider region, Turkey declared the Datça-Bozburun Special Environmental Protection Area on 21 November 1990. It covers about 1,444 km² (557 square miles). People lived on this shore in ancient times too. The ruins of Kastabos lie at Hisarönü, on the regional list of ancient sites without visitor facilities.
From D-Hotel Maris to D Maris Bay
When the resort opened, it carried the name D-Hotel Maris. Under that name, it already stood among the pines of the peninsula, where the two seas meet. Later it took its present name, D Maris Bay. Today it belongs to Doğuş, a Turkish group that runs hotels and restaurants in several countries.
Where D Maris Bay Sits
The resort's address is in the Çubucak area of Hisarönü, which belongs to Marmaris district. Our Marmaris guide covers the harbor town, its castle museum and the bays of the Bozburun Peninsula. Then, farther west, the road runs along the peninsula to the town of Datça. For arrivals by air, HAVAŞ and MUTTAŞ shuttles link Dalaman Airport with central Marmaris. By sea, ferries cross between Bodrum and Datça, and from the Datça side they leave from Kairos Marina.
Knidos at the tip of the peninsula
At the far western tip of Datça district lie the ruins of Knidos, between the islands of Kos and Rhodes. It was a Dorian city, and its terraces rise like a theater from the shore to the acropolis. A narrow isthmus created two harbors, one for warships on the west side and one for trade on the east. In antiquity, Knidos also exported its wine across the sea.
